About
Established by the late Jane Tomlinson CBE to stand as her fundraising legacy, following her death from cancer in 2007, Run For All was launched as a not-for-profit organisation to act as a fundraising vehicle for charities across the country big and small.
Before her death, Jane raised £1.85 million for children’s and cancer charities through a series of physical challenges including the Ride Across America. Jane knew her life was limited but wanted to create a vehicle which would allow others across the community the opportunity to raise money for good causes close to their own hearts and to share the excitement and fulfilment that she had experienced in participating in her own fundraising events.
Since the launch of the inaugural event the Leeds 10K in 2007, Run For All has continued to grow and now has three highly successful, well established 10K runs in Hull, Leeds and York.
As the name suggests the ‘Run For All’ series is an event for everyone with seasoned runners through to event novices pulling on their trainers to show their support of the work Jane started.
For just one year only, Run For All will be launching Run For Gold, a brand new campaign aimed to encourage everyone to start running and reach their goal. Whether it is getting fit, reaching a personal best or being involved in sport for the first time, 2012 is the perfect time to Run For Gold. To celebrate the campaign, there will be a host of exciting new things happening in the lead up to all the runs as well as on event day.
All profits from the Run For All series will go directly to charity. Profits from the Leeds 10K will go towards the Jane Tomlinson Appeal and profits from both the Hull and York 10K's will be split between the Appeal and the relevant event partner charities.
