A fantastic end to the 2011 Run For All series

With runners coming from across the region to take part in the 3rd Jane Tomlinson York 10K and Arena Group Junior and Mini Run the atmosphere on the Knavesmire was electric as over 5500 runners took their place on the start line.

Sounding the start siren and waving the runners on their way today was Yorkshire favourite, Harry Gration and Miss York, Anastasia Cox, who watched the runners as they set of on the city centre route.

Congratulations must also go out to returning champions Ben Livesey and wheelchair athlete Bret Crossley finishing in 31 minutes 30 seconds and 33minutes 42 seconds respectively closely followed by first female Becky Penty in 34minutes 28seconds.

Mike Tomlinson said: “Today’s event has been a fantastic way to end the 2011 Run For All series. The support the events and charities involved have received from people across the region throughout the year has been overwhelming. Thanks must also go out to all the volunteers who have helped to make today so special. Look forward to seeing everyone again in 2012!”
