Breast Cancer Campaign

Registered Charity no.299758

48,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer every year – it is the most common cancer in women. The aim of Breast Cancer Campaign is to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research – our single minded objective is to find the cure.

To do this, our research focuses on how breast cancer can best be prevented, diagnosed and treated; how it develops, grows and spreads, and finally how we can improve breast cancer education and patient care.

There is no other breast cancer charity that funds research in our way; from Dundee to Southampton, from London to Leeds. Over the past 14 years, we have awarded 302 grants with a total value of over £31 million to universities, medical schools/teaching hospitals and research institutes across the UK and Ireland.
To continue our lifesaving work, we need your support.

Bluebell Wood

Registered Charity No. 1076958

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice cares for children and young adults with a shortened life expectancy. There are only 40 children’s hospices in the UK, and Bluebell Wood covers South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and North West Lincolnshire.

The hospice provides periods of respite allowing children and young adults to enjoy a range of stimulating activities whilst getting the one-to-one medical care they need. Respite allows parents to take a break, often the first they may have had in years, knowing that their child is safe and well looked after. Bluebell Wood also offers emergency care, which is a lifeline for a range of family situations. The hospice provides end of life care so parents can choose for their child to spend their last days at the hospice in a safe, secure and familiar non-hospital environment whilst still having access to the specialised medical care their child needs. Bluebell Wood has dedicated services in place for the whole family, both before and after bereavement.

The support offered by Bluebell Wood is invaluable. It costs over £2.5 million every year to provide this care and the hospice receives no statutory government funding. It is only thanks to public support that we can continue helping as many families as we do.

RNLI

Registered Charity No.209603

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Our volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards risk their lives every day to save an average of 22 people every day, at a cost of over £120 million per year. Over 500 people from Yorkshire have been rescued by the RNLI in the last 5 years, as well as the hundreds assisted by our lifeguards on Yorkshire beaches every year. We need your support to keep our crews trained and equipped to continue saving lives both at sea and inland; RNLI flood rescue teams are permanently on call to assist in flood hit areas.
